ONE IN FIVE AUSTRALIANS REGULARLY PLAY BILLIARDS, SNOOKER OR POOL. In 1969, West Australian Football legend Mal Atwell founded the Mal Atwell Leisure Group. Just like Mal's efforts on the football field, the family owned organization has gone from strength to strength. A major part of this success has been the continued growth of the Melbourne based distribution arm Consolidated Leisure & Sport. Established in 1988, CL&S has become the largest wholesale distributor of billiard, snooker and pool products throughout Australia and New Zealand. A family business that currently employs in excess of 30 personnel, with an annual turnover exceeding $AUD10 million.
CL&S has remained the name behind Aramith billiard, snooker and pool balls since 1988. These are phenolic resin balls used in World Championships, and are preferred by almost 80% of players worldwide. The complete CL&S product range includes the very popular English developed Mitchell cloth and accessories, Strachan cloth, Pot Black, Barracuda, Dufferin and Peradon cues.
